Proving that marriage and motherhood are universal experiences the world over Amity Dry’s ‘Mother, Wife and the Complicated Life’ has been translated into Norwegian for a 4 week season at the Kilden Theatre in Kristiansand, Norway.
The translation, titled ‘Det Perfekte Liv’ (The Perfect Life) starred Mia Gunderson from Norway’s Got Talent and was warmly received by audiences and critics.
“During the show we are drawn into a whirlwind of career choices, children, relationships and love. Sometimes it’s almost a little embarrassing how recognizable the everyday life of these ladies is. Who has not known the uncertainty in relation to becoming parents? And why is nobody told how it REALLY is giving birth? Had I been able, I would have sung with them aloud.” Norwegian review
Amity travelled to Norway to see the premiere and was thrilled with the adaption, cast and creative team, not to mention Norway itself!
Let’s hope this is the first of many overseas productions of this fabulous show.
